The Voice of Ireland Final
Sunday 29th April 2012 RTE One 6.30pm

Pat Byrne Is The Voice of Ireland

Five Blind auditions, three Battle shows and nine live shows have all culminated in one Sunday in April when one of our four finalists Richie Hayes(35), Vanessa Whelan (32), Jim Devine (32) and Pat Byrne(22) the Voice of Ireland will win a recording contract with Universal Ireland.

But there can only be one winner and with the most amount of combined downloads and votes Pat Byrne is The Voice of Ireland.

The show opened with an exhilarating group performance from our acts singing the U2 classic 'In The Name of Love', they were joined on stage with their coaches - Kian Egan, Sharon Corr, Brian Kennedy and Bressie.

Pat who hails from Borris in Carlow kicked off the night’s performances with a rendition of 'The River' which he sang at the first Blind audition when ALL 4 coaches turned for him. Jim (Strabane co. Tyrone) followed with the song that he felt cemented his position in the competition and the performance that his coach Kian felt was his turning point.
'I’m Already There', Vanessa’s (Tramore, Co. Waterford) blind audition captivated the coaches and she succeeded in recreating the magic again tonight with her operatic version of 'Rule The World'. Richie’s (Waterford) first performance of the Live Shows was when he felt it all changed for him, 'What About Me' was a fitting choice for Richie’s final song.

The four finalists closed the show with an electrifying rendition of the Elvis Presley classic hit – 'A Little Less Conversation'.

The nervous atmosphere of the results show was a familiar situation for Alexandra Burke who won The XFactor in 2008 and she broke the tension with an electrifying performance of her new single “Let It Go”.
