The Voice of Ireland – The Results

Nollaig O’Connor and Eliot Canavan Doyle voted off the Voice of Ireland

Coach Kian Egan and his team opened tonight’s show with Extreme’s ‘More than Words’ and Kian added in his own guitar to the rendition!. Also from the coaches corner was a performance from Brian Kennedy singing his brand new single Best Days along with the help of the Dublin Gospel Choir.

In tonight’s show 4 acts from Team Sharon and Team Kian took to the stage hoping to win the all important votes from the viewers at home.

Liam Geddes and Jim Devine from Team Kian secured enough votes to move directly through to the next round leaving Sharon Gaynor and Eliot Canavan Doyle in the bottom 2. Kian chose to save Sharon ‘going with his heart’ he felt Eliot had time to grow. ‘He needs to get gigging and keep going’, Kian

On Team Sharon Kevin Keeley and Vanessa Whelan also topped their team and will sing again on 15th April, meaning Sharon had to make a decision to save either Kim Hayden or Nollaig o’Connor. Sharon had earlier picked out Kim’s performance as her favourite of the night making the choice a little easier, sending Nollaig home. Both Sharon and Nollaig were visibly upset on stage.

Next week Sunday 15 April sees the competition hotting with the Quarter Finals and with just 3 acts left on each team, all 12 contestants will share the stage for the first time together. The finalists will sing to stay in the competition in the hopes of winning that all important recording contract with Universal Music.

The top act from each team will progress directly to the semi final with the fate of the bottom 2 acts in the hands of their coaches. Who will stay and who will go their future lies in your hands..
